I spoke with Korrey about the weight increase yesterday afternoon, and something doesn't add up somewhere. He knows how much paint he used, and has the nominal transfer efficiency of his paint gun (i.e. the percentage of the sprayed paint that is transfered to the surface). He has a pretty good estimate of the percentage of the paint that is solvents, which would evaporate. Do a bit of math, and it seems impossible for the weight increase to be anywhere close to 28 lb. Perhaps the scales are off now, and/or maybe they were off when I weighed the aircraft in 2009.
