    Great plane - Cool Story.
I'm falling in love with the RV-8 myself.
At 6'4" - 275lb - very broad shoulders..... im thinking a story like yours will be in my near future.... (sadly not many RV8's in Australia)

  • Hi Nathan,

Hopefully you can find an RV-8 to drool over. At 6'4", you should easily fit in the aircraft, unless you have a very atypical balance of legs and torso (e.g. 6'4" with the leg length usually seen on a 7'6" guy, would be a problem). Van's also has a tall guy option, with a different weldment that supports the front seat back. The tall guy option puts the front seat support several inches further aft at the top, and is reported to be useful for some people.

If you ever make it to North America, or the UK, you should be able to easily find an RV-8. I'd be happy to show you ours, and take you flying if you fit in the back seat.

  • Hey Nathan

I'm your size almost exactly (in fact, I used to be 350 lbs, but am currently 275) and my RV-8 is a perfect fit. I flew it for many years at 350. The rudder pedals are adjustable, so you can set them where you need them for height.
