Sunday I attacked the right baffle floor piece. I had to make a hole to allow the oil line for the propeller pitch control to pass through. It took a bit of work with the drill, nibbler, file and sandpaper, but it came out fine.

It was a pain drilling the most inboard little angle that help hold the right baffle front piece in place (you can't see it in this picture - it is on the front side of the front baffle piece). This piece sits in a very small area between the baffle front piece and the flywheel. I finally managed to hold the angle in place with a piece of wood, and drilled two of the holes coming down from the top with a 12 inch drill bit. Then I was able to get in with an angle drill to drill one of the holes on the vertical face, and run a Sharpie pen along the top to mark the height that the other end sat at. It all worked out great.

Terry got back from ten days in Green Bay last night, so I didn't get any building done. Tonight, I had a visit from Mark Richardson, another local RV-8 builder. Then I trimmed the front baffle pieces so they would just fit under the upper cowling (this shot shows them at full height, before trimming).
