Spring has really hit, with record high temperatures this weekend. Terry and I decided to take full advantage by flying to Mont-Laurier for lunch today. It would be her first trip in the aircraft since our lunch in Lake Placid in October.

There were patches of fog in low lying areas north of the Ottawa river, but I was expecting that they would burn off as the day heated up.

But, the patches got bigger as we went north, and Mont-Laurier was firmly in the grip of the fog. Good thing I had filled the tanks before take-off, as that allowed a multitude of Plan Bs. We decided to head to Lindsay, which was well over an hour away by that point, into a 20 kt headwind. We had a great lunch in Lindsay, then ripped back to Smiths Falls, enjoying the tailwind.

Classic Wings was doing some hangar cleaning, and had pushed about half their fleet out onto the ramp.

After arriving home, Terry couldn’t find her regular glasses anywhere. They had last been seen after leaving the restaurant in Lindsay, as she took them off to don her sunglasses. I called Lindsay, but no one had turned in any found glasses. The next place to look was in the aircraft, which meant driving back to the airport. I searched the cockpit and baggage compartment, but no glasses were found. Drat.
