My seat belts arrived today from Hooker Harness. They look great! Their basic model has a buckle with a lever. I decided to upgrade to a rotary latch, as I plan to do aerobatics, and I didn't want to chance snagging the lever and undoing the buckle. Yes, I know that many competition aerobatic pilots use buckles with lever latches, but they all use two lap belts too, so if one comes undone they have a back-up. I've only got one lap belt. If it comes undone I'll be floating around the cockpit.

I installed a bug-fix update to the Geeklog software that runs this site. I'll check everything I can think of to see if the new version is working properly, but I'm sure that visitors will find ways to exercise the software that I didn't think of. Please let me know at This email address is being protected from spambots. Terry and I got back this evening from a visit to Green Bay, WI to spend Christmas with her family. It was good to see them again, but it was certainly good to get back home after 10 days on the road. I was definitely getting a bad case of building withdrawal. Tomorrow I'll attack the project again.

I spent all of last week in Montreal flight testing two different Challenger projects. It\'s strange how things work - I hadn\'t flown a Challenger in several years, then I get three Challenger projects in two weeks. Now I\'m tied up in various Christmas activites, so I won\'t make much progress until the week of New Years.

I was in Montreal a couple days this week, I had to spend some time Christmas shopping, plus we had a Christmas party yesterday. So progress has been a bit slow.

This afternoon I finished fabricating the drilling the pieces that close off the top of the oil cooler mount, and I got most of the way through making the new air control door.

It covers pre-manufactured oil and fuel hose assemblies, part numbers VA-129, VA-133, VA-134, VA-135, VA-138, VA-139 purchased from Van's before 12/10/02. These hoses carry fuel between the gascolator, fuel pump and carburetor/injector body, and oil between the engine and oil cooler.
